Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements our Terms and Conditions and governs the use of the SEAJOBS portal by registered candidates and companies. By using the portal, you agree to abide by the following rules.
1. Prohibited content
You may not post, transmit or share through SEAJOBS any content that:
- Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, offensive, harassing, threatening or discriminatory on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability or any other condition.
- Promotes violence, hatred or illegal activities.
- Infringes the intellectual or industrial property rights of third parties.
- Contains personal data of third parties without their consent.
- Constitutes spam, unsolicited advertising or any form of unauthorised commercial communication.
- Includes viruses, malware, ransomware or any malicious code.
- Is false, misleading or fraudulent.
2. Prohibited conduct
You may not, in relation to the portal:
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Attempt to access accounts, data or restricted areas of other users.
- Carry out scraping, data mining, reverse engineering or any form of automated extraction of contents without prior written authorisation.
- Overload, interfere with or attempt to disrupt the operation of the portal or its servers.
- Use the portal to harass, intimidate or harm other users.
- Collect or store personal data of other users without their consent.
- Circulate hoaxes or false information about candidates or companies.
3. Company obligations
Companies registered on SEAJOBS additionally undertake to:
- Use candidates' personal data exclusively to evaluate embarkation applications.
- Not transfer, sell or share candidates' personal data with third parties outside the recruitment process.
- Comply with applicable maritime labour regulations (MLC 2006, STCW, ILO Conventions).
- Ensure the accuracy of the information published in their profiles and offers.
- Respect the principles of non-discrimination and equal treatment in recruitment processes.
4. Candidate obligations
Registered candidates undertake to:
- Provide truthful information about their qualifications, experience and certifications.
- Not impersonate other professionals or falsify certifications.
- Keep their contact and availability data up to date.
- Respect the confidentiality of information received from companies and candidates.
5. Notification and takedown procedure
If you become aware of any content or conduct that infringes this AUP, please notify us at tickets@libertydreams.co.uk, including the URL or identifier of the content and a description of the issue. We will respond as soon as possible and, where appropriate, remove the content or suspend the offending user.
6. Consequences of non-compliance
Non-compliance with this AUP may lead, depending on the seriousness and recurrence, to:
- Written warning.
- Temporary suspension of the account.
- Permanent cancellation of the account.
- Removal of published content.
- Corresponding legal action, including claims for damages.
Where cancellation is motivated by serious breach, we reserve the right not to permit subsequent re-registration.
7. Limitation of liability (E-Commerce Directive)
Pursuant to article 14 of the E-Commerce Directive 2000/31/EC and its equivalents under UK GDPR, Liberty Dreams LTD, as a provider of intermediation services, shall not be liable for content posted by users of the portal, provided that (i) it does not have actual knowledge of the illegality or (ii) it acts diligently to remove or disable access to such content upon obtaining knowledge of its illegality.
